No IPO's on this horizon

This is a follow up post to my November 19th post, "I'm not buying it". Ok, like I said I'm not buying it and a lot of you agreed with me. There are no IPO's on this horizon. Why? There's no activity. Remember IPO's are released base upon us, ( the trader) not when OS deems it necessary. I do not see any changes in the near future as well. What you see trading each day now is what I call boredom trading. Others are trying to call it day trading. A day trader by definition is actively searching for potential trading setups (that is, any SOI's or IPO's that, in the judgement of the day trader, is in a tension state, ready to move in price, that when traded well has a potential for a profit). Well IMO we are definitely in a tension state but I can't see the potential for major movement in the SOI prices as to make a whole lot of profit. In the OS world there is only one way to bet on a SOI, that's up. No Call options, or Puts and no betting a SOI will go south for profit.

So where does that leave us?

Well stagnate IMO. No great movement up or down. Like I said before, those of us who like the OS concept are just sitting and waiting, those new to the game are watching because of the current prices. Those who are trying to "Day trade" are doing more harm then good. OneSeason, the balls in your court. It's 4th down, very little time left on the clock. This site, OneNation, or any other low budget blog is not your answer. Mark my words, If SOI's start to reverse split, it will be the beginning of the end.

I'm not buying it.....

Ok, for some of you my posts have always been positive. Most of the time I have been right on the money as well. Look at the very beginning and you can see that almost everything that I stated has changed or come true. That being said I certainly don't claim to be able to predict the future or have any inside lines. It's merrily my observation and opinions.

I listen in last week to Mike Sroka's radio interview and tried to read (listen) between the lines. Something that caught my ear was why the market was down both in value, volume and activity. Mike explained that the "SOI's were finding the true value".  Although I do believe that this will be the case someday, I am not convinced that it is the case now. SOI's are not reflecting their true value based on any player performance, popularity or anything else for that matter. Activity is the key marker for my conclusion in this hypothesis. IMO we are not seeing the rush of people that we saw in the beginning. I am willing to guess that membership sign-up is off considerably from the beginning. I understand that you will see a mad rush at any launch but it has dropped off to much in recent weeks. Mike also stated that OS is currently advertising on YardBarker.com. I am glad that they are advertising but not impressed with who they are advertising with, YardBarker? It is a rotatable ad at best and come on not the readership I was expecting. I know for a fact that more can be done with regards to their advertising. Even if the budget is not there yet they have different opportunities that could be taken advantage of.

OS is at a critical crossroads for many of it's members. Some members are willing to sit and wait( me included) but most are not. This will be nothing more then a test drive that didn't fair so well if things don't begin to change. No more referrals and no more chatter on all the message boards. Cautious friends that did not choose to come on right away are starting to ask, "How is that OneSeason thing doing?" This will further decline the activity and bring SOI's even lower. As soon as the revers splits begin to happen I am afraid that it will be to late.

I am going to have to say that this is big disappointment for me. OS, step up and bring it to the masses. You have the power right now to make this as big as you want it. Practice is over! Game time is now! Lace up the cleats and let's get in the game!

Slow and sustained growth.....

It has been a couple of days since my last post. Thanks to LongP76 for his prospective into Oneseason as new trader.

Watching the market over the past several days it has been slow and steady. I think this is a good sign that maybe we are starting to see SOI's realize their true or more realistic values. This is not to say that we could still see a spike in either direction but hopefully we will not see the drastic declines.

Still more traders are finding the site everyday. Others are here because someone turned them on to it. IMO we are still in the very early stages and have not even seen the true growth of OS. When this is really
put out there
e for the public we will see a massive influx of new traders. People will be trying to buy up their favorite players and traders will be just starting their sportfolios. You know what that means ---------------------> My approach is to buy as many shares of players that I can get my hands on, let the market settle and just sit back and wait.

A Newbie's Perspective

I hope everyone is doing well on this big day, and hopefully everyone has been out to vote. If you don't vote...no bit@$ing about the guy who gets elected!
Being new to OS (less than 2 weeks), I wanted to share a newbie's perspective. The first day, I was hooked. I signed up on a Saturday, and Sunday I spent all day watching football and getting familiar with OS. Going into it, I set a $200 limit. OS was peaking, so $200 was gone in a wink. A few hundred dollars later, ODEN was released and I was lucky enough to get some shares...now it was really fun! It didn't matter that we couldn't afford dinner that night. JK...I'm not a college kid living in a van down by the river, as PowerBroker likes to say. But seriously, set a limit, set a back up limit, and just have fun. It's hard to put any rhyme or reason behind it at this point. I never believed in get rich quick schemes, nor do I believe this is one. I do believe that this great concept has come to reality, and my guy tells me I should feel lucky to be a part of it at its infant stage.
So happy voting, and happy buying!

A New Dawn

Well IMO it's a new dawn. How do I know? I don't. Can anyone predict what the market will do? No. So why am I so sure that things are going to turn around? I'm not. But I just said that it's a new dawn and things are going to turnaround. Let's just say I have a hunch. What the hell is that? A Hunch? This makes no sense! BINGO! (does it seem like I'm talking to myself)

To many people are still trying to make to much sense out of this thing called OneSeason. We have never seen a site quit like this before. That is one of the reason it is the way it is. It cannot be compared to the stock market, it's not even close. It certainly is not fantasy football and it's a long shot from card trading. I would say it has bits and pieces of each one of them all roll into one. We as traders have to figure out a whole new set of rules. We have to find out where rock bottom is and how far this can real go and be successful. Throw in all the things OS is coping with and you get what we have been through the last week or so.

So why do I think we are at the bottom? Well IMO we have gone as low as we can go. Grant it there maybe some people that want to see a reverse split take place but for the most part the strong and faithful will not be happy (including me) if our stock are taking away. We will do our part to keep things going in the opposite direction from a split. OS is working out the bugs with deposits which will help make the market stronger and the number one reason all most everyone is below IPO price and that's a reason to buy no matter if you a season trader or the lucky guy who is new to the site. Now is the time to spread the word before everything goes back up, and it will go back up.

Paranoia

Paranoia = is a disturbed thought process characterized by excessive anxiety or fear, often to the point of irrationality and delusion. Paranoid thinking typically includes persecutory concerning a perceived market meltdown. Paranoid chat often feeds from it's self and spreads to others that maybe in contact with a infected individual(s). To avoid being infected with this problem go to your nearest fallout shelter and stay off chat rooms that promote fear and PARANOIA.

Ok call me crazy but I think I have figured out why the market has been down and I have discovered a direct correlation to the market being down and what has caused this collapse

 CHAT ROOMS!!!!!!

Ok hear me out..... Do you remember when (some of us do) you bought and sold SOI based on what you thought? Remember not selling a stock because some person who lives in a van down by the river said so? I do! I stop by some of the live chat rooms and read post after post how everything is blowing up. These chicken little chatters are always crying, "the sky is falling" no wonder new people are afraid to come on board.  All I ever read is the same stuff about what's not working, how slow the site is, "this is a sham", they have taken my money and left the country and a lot of depressing nonsense.  Mike Sroka has given suitable answers to these and other hard questions over and over again and still I see this stuff written.
So I challenge you, stay off the chat rooms if you are prone to Paranoia.

Comments From One Season

PowerBroker,

Your most recent blog entry is excellent. It includes some very revevant material in understanding implied price (the driver of total value).

OneSeason provides a virtual goods marketplace where willing buyers and seller can transact. Earlier today some user were experiencing display errors which we had difficulty replicating. Thanks to the help of some users who sent in screen shots we were able to locate the bug which we believe is fixed. The OneSeason market continues to be extremely volatile on a daily basis as the market grapples with price discovery for something new along with a rapid growing user base.

Thank you for coming on. We hope you enjoy the site.
